Acts 11:1-18

Today’s devotional is written by Sarah McClane.

Acts 11:15-17 says, “When (Peter) began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as the Spirit fell on us in the beginning.  I remembered the Lord’s words: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, then who am I? Could I stand in God’s way?’”

How true it is! When the Spirit moves, people catch on and move!

Peter had received a vision and knew it was from God and moved.  The people were untrusting, but then the Spirit moved them.  What stands out is that in the end they all figured it out and began praising God together!

Oh, that the Spirit will open our eyes and ears to God’s will for our lives, our community and our church.  That we will worship God together without divisions.

How large is your heart?

Is it open to change?
